15 Minute Fitness Opens in Chico

(Chico)  An exciting new concept in physical fitness has come to Chico.  Fifteen Minute Fitness, an extraordinarily unique health studio is open for business at a convenient location on 9th St. (HW 32) next to Highway 99.

Fifteen Minute Fitness is designed for people "on the go" who can achieve measurable results by working out for just two 15 minute sessions each week and follow a recommended nutritional program.  The surprisingly affordable service also acts as a supplemental program to people who already belong to health clubs but don't want to pay the exorbitant extra cost of personal training.

Fifteen Minute Fitness offers a quick, scientific system based on solid physiological research that helps busy people of all ages and abilities lead healthier lives, including those who are not especially fond of exercising.

The studio itself is one of Chico's most attractive and inspiring work-out environments.  Fifteen Minute Fitness is a long time dream of owner Mark Nett who spent many years in Asia, and brings to his studio an Eastern theme, complete with rock garden and feng shui design.  For a free assessment stop the new facility at 1390 E. 9th St., Suite 170 next to the former Market Place Cafe, or call 530-809-1258.

The Fifteen Minute Fitness lease was put together by Mike Donnelly and Frank Ross of The Group Real Estate.

Oroville Mercury Register Building Sold
Butte County Buys 14,000 sq. ft. Building

(Oroville)  California Northern and The Group Real Estate have announced the Oroville Mercury Register newspaper office/warehouse complex has been sold.  The 14,000 sq. ft. building on 3.26 acres has been purchased by Butte County for $1,500,000 and will be used for General Services.

The transaction was handled by Mike Donnelly of The Group Real Estate/California Northern and Kevin Mechelke of the Staubach Company representing the Seller.  Butte County Property Manager Grant Hunsiker represented the Buyer.

Because of changing trends in the newspaper industry, the Oroville Mercury Register needs far less space than the massive facility on 2nd Ave.  Donnelly and Mechelke are now working with the newspaper to find a smaller, more suitable location closer to downtown.

The Oroville Mercury anticipates relocating to its new location by November, and until then will lease back from Butte County and remain at its current location.

Mission Square Breaks Ground
11,000 sq. ft. Commercial Complex Under Construction

(Oroville)  Ground has been broken and construction is underway on a new commercial complex at Mission Square in Oroville.  The 11,000 square foot building is being constructed next to the Hofbrau Restaurant and the California Department of Motor Vehicles across from Feather River Tribal Health on 5th Avenue.

The project is the realization of a long time dream by long time residents and local businessmen Bill Jones, Ken Harlan and Jim Scurlock.  Jones is the owner of Mt. Ida Mandarin Ranch, Harlan is the owner of Robert’s Drug Store and Scurlock owns Foster's Freeze on Oro Dam Blvd.

The three men have made great efforts hire locally and keep their investment dollars in Oroville.  “We are excited at the positive economic growth we are seeing in our community, and we want to contribute toward the revitalization efforts” said Bill Jones, spokesperson for the ownership group.  The three men have hired Oroville based Carey Construction to build the $1.2 million million-dollar project.  Construction is expected to be completed by June, 2008.

The commercial condominium building is broken up into ten (10) units which are available for sale or lease.  A major financial services firm will be the first business to announce it will be moving into the new building, taking two thousand (2,000) square feet on the end cap along 5th Avenue.  The owners are also actively seeking a restaurant or a café to buy or lease the other high profile end cap unit on the other side of the complex.  Space is also available for other professional services including retail and general business use.

California Northern Launches “The Lake Oroville Initiative”

(Oroville)  California Northern and The Group Real Estate are launching an unprecedented campaign called “The Lake Oroville Initiative” to promote the region and showcase emerging opportunities becoming available to local, national and international investors.

California has offered very real opportunities of great fortune for well over a century” said Mike Donnelly, Founder of California Northern Investment Real Estate and Commercial Agent for The Group.  “From a development standpoint, this state is still in its infancy.  There are still vast, untapped sources of new wealth and prosperity, and the Lake Oroville region is very much at the center it”, said Donnelly.  “Take the Sierra Oro Farm Trail for example, which promotes the scenic olive, wine and citrus tourism routes through winding country lanes.  This could easily become California’s next Napa Valley”, he said.

The Lake Oroville Initiative kicks off August 23rd with a reception for key investors and stakeholders at the Oroville Airport, followed by aerial and ground tours of the Lake Oroville area and special properties of interest.  The exciting excursion will culminate with a celebration with Oroville’s top business leaders at the Oroville Economic Development Corporation Annual BBQ at the Long Creek Winery.

Next month, representatives from California Northern and The Group Real Estate will attend the International Council for Shopping Centers Western Division Conference in San Diego September 18 – 20 to aggressively market commercial properties at the gateway to Lake Oroville.

During the week of October 22 – 26, “The Lake Oroville Initiative” will be taken to the Urban Land Institute Annual Conference in Las Vegas, where some of the country’s most affluent and influential leaders in real estate acquisition and development meet, to discuss new trends and seek new opportunities.  Many of them will be invited to visit Lake Oroville to see first hand the unique opportunities that still exist in California and offer unlimited potential return on investment.
